This policy explains what information Deep Thought Digital Marketing ("Deep Thought", "we", "us") collects when you visit deepthought.marketing, fill in one of our forms, or contact us, and what we do with it. It covers this website only. If you become a customer, your service agreement and any separate terms for our campaign platform also apply.
Information you give us
When you fill in our contact form or book a demo, we collect what you type in. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your business name, website and number of locations
- Your approximate monthly ad spend, the services you are interested in, and how you heard about us
- Anything you write in the message or promotion field
We also collect whatever you include when you email or call us.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. These tools set cookies and collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the site or ad that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. We use this in aggregate to see which pages help people and which do not.
If you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, the page records the Google click ID from the link and sends it with any form you submit. This tells us which ads lead to real enquiries, so we can stop paying for the ones that do not.
We do not use this information to identify you personally from your browsing alone.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and set up any demo or call you asked for
- To provide and support our services if you become a customer
- To measure and improve our website and our own advertising
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
We only send you marketing email if you have asked to hear from us or are a customer, and every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our contact lists.
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and the business, and only as much as they need:
- Web3Forms, which delivers form submissions to our inbox
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and Ads), for site analytics and ad measurement
- GitHub, which hosts the website
- Email, phone and business software we use to respond to you and serve customers
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
Your choices
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
- Google Analytics: you can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Ad personalisation: you can manage how Google uses your data for ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or ask us directly.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to get a copy of it. You can make any of these requests by emailing
Support@deepthought.marketing. We will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to follow up and for a reasonable period afterwards. We keep customer records for as long as you are a customer and afterwards for as long as legal, tax or accounting rules require. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymise it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is for businesses. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites and social profiles, including our campaign platform. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
